Man Turns Self In Following Hit and Run

Wisconsin law enforcement officials are trying to piece together an accident that occurred recently in Dodge County. On the night of Monday, October 22nd, a man was walking along Highway 33 when he was struck by a truck. The impact of the collision caused the man to be thrown into the ditch. The truck that hit the man fled the scene following the collision, making the collision a hit and run.

Fortunately, the hit pedestrian was found shortly after the collision and law enforcement officials were called to the scene. The accident victim was transported to Beaver Dam Community Hospital by ambulance, and then moved to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life because of the severity of the injuries sustained in the accident. Law enforcement officials have stated that the pedestrian sustained serious injuries to his lower extremities as a result of the accident.

The sheriff’s department located pieces of the truck that crashed into the pedestrian on the side of the roadway. Following the accident, law enforcement’s investigation led to a description of the suspected vehicle and driver of the vehicle. Officials posted a new’s release with information regarding the accident on social media. After seeing the news release, the suspected driver turned himself in and has since been charged with hit and run causing injuries.
