We are proud to announce Kailee Nowakowski as the 2026 Martin Law Office Scholarship recipient!

A South Milwaukee resident and student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Kailee has demonstrated an impressive dedication to community service through her involvement in local nonprofit organizations, international clean water initiatives, and healthcare.

Her passion for helping others reflects the values that inspired the creation of our scholarship program.

About the Martin Law Office Scholarship

The Martin Law Office Scholarship was created to support the next generation of leaders in Wisconsin.

As a law firm dedicated to advocating for individuals and families throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, we believe in investing in students who demonstrate responsibility, compassion, and civic engagement.

The scholarship is open to high school seniors planning to continue their education at a college or university. Applicants are asked to submit an essay describing how they have positively contributed to their community.

Through this program, we aim to recognize young people who are making a difference while supporting their educational goals and future success.

Meet Kailee Nowakowski

Kailee’s commitment to community service began with simple acts of kindness, including organizing donations, packing supplies, assisting with blood drives, and volunteering wherever help was needed.

Over time, these experiences developed into a passion for improving the well-being of others.

As Kailee shared in her scholarship essay:

“My commitment to community service started in smaller, quiet moments by packing supplies, organizing donations, running blood drives, and showing up with hands ready to work whenever my community needed me.”

Her volunteer experiences have taken her from supporting international initiatives to helping students and families right here in Milwaukee.

Supporting Clean Water Initiatives

Through her involvement with the School Sisters of Saint Francis, Kailee has contributed to clean water initiatives benefiting communities overseas.

Her volunteer work included fundraising and preparing materials to support efforts focused on improving access to clean water.

This experience helped Kailee understand how even small contributions can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

She recognized that access to clean water supports healthier families, educational opportunities, and stronger communities.

Helping Milwaukee Students and Families

Closer to home, Kailee has volunteered with Lutheran Social Services, supporting fundraising efforts focused on mental health resources in Milwaukee Public Schools.

As part of these initiatives, she has provided free childcare to help families participate in events and activities.

Through her involvement, Kailee has also heard firsthand about the challenges students and families face, including stress, loss, and limited access to resources.

These experiences have strengthened her commitment to supporting programs that help children feel safe, supported, and prepared to succeed.

Making a Difference Through Healthcare

Kailee has also carried her passion for helping others into her healthcare career.

Through her experience working in a community hospital and a Level I trauma hospital, including roles associated with Froedtert, she has had opportunities to support patients facing a variety of medical challenges.

From individuals experiencing chronic pain to patients recovering from unexpected accidents, Kailee understands the importance of providing compassionate care during difficult moments.

Her healthcare experiences have reinforced her desire to advocate for vulnerable individuals and make a meaningful difference in their lives.

A Commitment to Community Service

Throughout her scholarship essay, Kailee emphasized that making a positive impact does not always require large gestures.

As she explained:

“Across all of these roles, local and global, volunteer and clinical, I have learned that impact is measured by intention and action no matter how small.”

Her dedication to service demonstrates how individuals can create meaningful change through compassion, consistency, and a willingness to help.

As she continues her education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Kailee hopes to expand her ability to serve and advocate for those who need support.

Congratulations, Kailee!
