Toddler Hit By a School Bus

A scary incident occured recently in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The incident involved a school bus and a 2-year-old child.

Around 4:00 pm on the afternoon of March 9th, a bus was completing its normal afterschool route. The bus pulled into a neighborhood to drop some students off. As the bus was pulling away for the stop, a toddler ran toward the bus.

The driver was unable to see the toddler in front of the bus, and the toddler collided with the bus. People who saw the accident quickly alerted the bus driver to what had transpired.

Law enforcement officials responded to the scene of the accident. The toddler was transported to the local hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Law enforcement officials performed an intial investigation on the scene of the accident. The intial investigation found no signs of driver negligence.

Accidents happen, but there are things that we can do to help make the roadways safer for not only ourselves, but others as well. Some things that we can do to help us prevent accidents are to avoid distracted driving, make sure that you do not travel above the speed limit and pay close attention to the roadway and your surroundings.
