Ford Recall

The automobile company, Ford, has issued a recall for almost 600,000 vehicles. The vehicles that are affected by the recall were sold in both North America and Europe. The recall is for two separate problems.

One of the issues that the recall is for is potential engine fires. The vehicles affected by the recall have a lack or coolant circulation, which can cause the engine to overheat and a crack in the cylinder head. It is possible that oil can leak through the crack in he cylinder and cause an engine fire.

Ford has said that owners can continue to drive the vehicles, and the company will be sending instructions on how to check and refill the coolant. Dealerships will also check the coolant for owners. If you have a vehicle that leaks coolant, it should be taken to a dealership.

The vehicles affected include:

  • 2014 Escape SUVs
  • 2014-2015 Fiesta ST
  • 2013-2014 Fusion
  • 2013-2015 Transit Connect

The company is also adding vehicles to a recall from 2015 involving doors unexpectedly flying open. The doors of the affected vehicles may have malfunctioning door latches. This can cause the doors to be unable to close or fly open while the car is being driven.

The vehicles added to this recall include:

  • 2014 Fiesta
  • 2013-2014 Fusion
  • 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ

The company has not reported an injuries or accidents related to the door latch issues.
