Cheese Recall

May 17 , 2017 | Personal Injury

Cheese is a popular food in Wisconsin, and many Wisconsinites tend to consume cheese frequently. A Wisconsin cheesemaker, Hennings Cheese, has issued a recall for some of its cheese.

The recall comes after a pasteurizer malfunctioned. Because of the malfunction, the company cannot be sure that the cheese was properly pasteurized to ensure that it is safe for consumption. This recall is being taken with an abundance of caution, as the company does not want anyone to become sick for consuming unpasteurized cheese. As of now, there have not been any reports of illnesses relating to the recalled cheese.

The cheese that is affected by the recall is Henning’s Cheese Colby Jack cheese. The cheese included in the recall was sold startinf April 10, 2017. The cheese affected was sold in the sizes of 1 pound and 2 pound blocks. The cheese will have a date code of 1007 that can be found on a label on the block of cheese. There are about 1000 pounds of cheese affected by the recall.

If you think you may have brought some of the affected cheese, you should check the code on the label before consuming it. If you discover that you own some of the cheese that has been affected by the recall, you should not eat it. You can return the cheese to the place where you bought it or a Henning’s Cheese store for a full refund of the purchase price. You can also call Henning’s Cheese with additional questions about the recall.
