We expect the products we buy and consume to be safe for our use and consumption. Unfortunately. that is not always the case and sometimes the products we buy and consume cause potential risks to our health and safety. When a problem with a product is discovered, it is common for the company that produces the product to issue a recall for the product in question. The recall is issued to help warn consumers of the problem and to help keep them safe from the potential hazards. Recently, a popular food brand has issued a recall for one of its products.

The food company, Pillsbury, has issued a recall for more than 4,600 cases of its flour because of concerns over a possible E Coli contamination. The bags of flour included in the recall are Pillsbury Best 5-pound Bread Flour, which were sold by Hometown Food Company. The flour in these bags was manufactured by ADM Milling in Buffalo, New York. The bags of flour included in the recall have UPC codes of 051500200315, lot codes of either 8342 or 8343 and use by dates of either June 8, 2020 or June 9, 2020.

The recall comes after the company was informed that some of the wheat used to make the flour affected by the recall was linked to E. Coli illnesses. The symptoms of E. Coli include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. The symptoms typically begin somewhere between three to four days after ingesting the contaminated product. Most people recover from the infection within five to seven days.

There have not been any reports of illnesses linked to the flour as of now. Consumers who have purchased the flour should not consume it and should either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
