What Contributed to an Accident Between a Minivan and School Bus?

With the summer months just around the corner, more people will be on the roadways. In addition to people, more animals will likely be out and about as well. Because of the increased traffic on the roadways, drivers need to ensure that they are putting all of their attention on the roads to help keep the roads safe. Recently, some wildlife contributed to an accident.

On Friday, May 10th, in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, an accident occurred between a school bus and a minivan. The accident occurred when the minivan slowed down for some geese that were crossing the street. The school bus was following behind the minivan when it slowed for the geese crossing the road. Unfortunately, the school bus could not stop in time and rear-ended the minivan. At the time of the accident, the bus was full of children on their way to school and the minivan had a driver as well as two kids inside.

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries that resulted from the accident. The Mukwonago Fire Department and Mukwonago Police Department quickly responded to the scene of the accident. Law enforcement officials were able to check on the safety of all of the children. The bus was allowed to complete its route to school.

Because of the possibilities of unexpected wildlife in the roadways, it is important that drivers ensure that are paying close attention to the roadways and traveling the speed limit.
