Meet our 2022 Martin Law Office Spring Scholarship recipient, Savannah Santos!
Here is a little background information about Savannah:
Savannah Santos will graduate from Muskego High School in June of 2022. She will attend college in the Fall of 2022. Savannah was nominated Student of The Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Since then she has participated in high school fundraising events to benefit LLS. Their mission is to find a cure for blood cancers and to improve the quality of life for patients. Savannah said this was one of the most meaningful experiences for her, she said it was truly remarkable.
As the team leader, she recruited a team of ten members from across different school districts. They were named the “Warriors CAN-CERvive.” They organized numerous events throughout the community and met with many business owners, Savannah managed her own LLS website seeking donations and updating folks on events, talked to several school principals, and published an LLS video. All in all, they raised over $30,000, a third of which was raised by Savannah personally. LLS held a ceremony for Savannah and her team as a way to present their story and to inspire others.
Savannah did not stop there. She became the leader of the fundraisers on the Student Council Executive Board and fundraised through hosting school-wide and community events. She became the National Honor Society’s Principal Cabinet Representative and offered ideas on how to improve the school environment.
As President of the Brain, Behavior Research Club, she visited eldercare centers and engaged with residents. They bowled, played bingo, sang Christmas Carols, created holiday cards, and more. As a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, Savannah volunteered at local churches translating and organized a gift drive for children in Guatemala during each holiday season. The same with Student Council, they adopted a family in the community for Christmas and provided them with an abundance of gifts.
It is easy to see why we chose Savannah as our 2022 Martin Law Office Spring Scholarship winner.
