Suspected Drunk Driver Collides with Parked Cars

There are many things that can make driving more dangerous to not only yourself, but to others on the roadways as well. These activities include distracted driving and going over the speed limit or traveling too fast for the weather conditions. Another thing that greatly increases the risk of being involved in an accident is driving while under the influence of alcohol. Recently, an accident occurred in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin involving a driver who was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.

The accident occurred during the early morning hours on Sunday, February 10th. The accident occurred near 16th Street and Ostergaard  A female driver was traveling westbound on 16th Street when her vehicle crossed over the center line onto the eastbound side of the street. After her vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes, the driver veered over further, causing her vehicle to collide with cars that were parked on the side of the street. In total, the driver struck three parked cars. Luckily, none of the vehicles were occupied when they were struck by the vehicle.

Law enforcement officials were called to the scene of the accident, where they found the driver with a facial wound. The fire department also responded to the scene of the accident and treated the driver for her minor injuries resulting from her collisions with the parked cars. Following her treatment for her injuries, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The incident is still under investigation.

Drinking and driving is a serious safety hazard. If you are planning to drink, then you should not be planning to drive. By not mixing alcohol with driving, you can help to keep the roadways safer for everyone.
