Car Hits Three Pedestrians

June 21 , 2017 | Car Accidents

Now that the weather is warmer, there are more pedestrians out and about. Because of the increased amount of foot traffic, drivers need to be extra cautious and aware of their surroundings while they are operating their motor vehicles to help prevent injury to themselves and others.

On Friday, June 16th, three pedestrians and a motor vehicle were involved in a collision in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The pedestrians were walking down a sidewalk near 20th Street and Fund du Lac when a car struck them.

The car was speeding and attempting to go around another vehicle on the roadway when the accident occurred. The driver of car was speeding because she wanted to make the light near the intersection. Because of the speed the driver was going, she lost control of her car.

The loss of control of her vehicle caused her to go onto a nearby sidewalk and hit the three pedestrians and a building. Witnesses to the collision describe the speed that the driver was traveling before the accident as “screaming” fast.

The impact of the car colliding with the pedestrians caused serious injuries to all three of them. All of the pedestrians were taken to the hospital from the accident scene to receive medical care for their injuries. The driver was also taken to the hospital as well.

Drivers need to avoid traveling at excessive speed while driving. Going too fast can make it more to difficult to control your vehicle, thus making it more likely that you will be involved in accident. Drivers should always travel at a speed that is in accordance with both the set speed limit and the weather conditions. By doing so, you can help prevent accidents and injuries.

How can we get people to adhere to the speed limit and drive at safe speeds?
