A large grocery store chain, ALDI, has issued a recall for an item that they sell in the stores. The recall is for Season’s Choice Frozen Sweet Peas. The recall comes after the discovery that the peas may have a Listeria contamination.
Listeria occurs when people eat food containing the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes. Some of the symptoms of Listeria are fever, diarrhea, muscle aches, fatigue, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions. People who are most suceptiable to Listera are pregnant women, the elderly and those who have weakened immune systems. If you believe you may have listeriosis, you should seek medical care.
ALDI received a notification from the producer of Season’s Choice Frozen Sweet Peas, and immediately removed the peas from the store. The peas that are being recalled were sold in 16 ounce bags. The recalled peas have the UPC code 041498164294 and have Best By Dates of 08/2018 or 09/2018.
