A favorite food of children has been recently been recalled. TreeHouse Foods, Inc. has recalled some of its macaroni and cheese products. The recall comes after the discovery that the cheddar cheese powder may be contaminated with Salmonella.
Tree House Inc. voluntarily issued the recall after their supplier of milk powder informed them of the possible Salmonella contamination. The recall affects the Great Value macaroni and cheese cups that are sold at Walmart.
Salmonella is a type of food poisoning that is caused by bacterium. Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever and cramps in the stomach. Usually people can recover from it without recieving treatment, but in some cases the symptoms are severe and the person requires hospitalization. Those who are elderly, infants or who have impaired immune symptoms are most susceptible to Salmonella, thus making them the most likely to have severe symptoms from it.

There have not been any reported cases of Salmonella linked to the recalled products.
If you have these products you should either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
