Volvo Recall

October 6 , 2016 | Personal Injury

The automobile maker, Volvo, is is issuing a recall on almost 44,000 thousand vehicles including both cars and SUVs. The recall was issued because the air conditioning units in the cars can leak water. The water leakage can cause the airbags in the vehicles to not deploy properly.

A hose in the air conditioning may be leaking, causing water to get on the airbags. The reason for the leaks may be that the hose was not installed correctly at the factory. The leakages may also cause engine management problems.

Both airbags and engine management systems are very important to have in good working condition in your vehicle, especially in the event of an accident. Airbags can save lives.

The vehicles included in the recall are:

  • 2016 XC90 SUV
  • 2017 XC90 SUV
  • 2017 S90 Sedan

If you own one of the vehicles that is listed as part of the recall, you should bring the vehicle to a dealership. The dealership will inspect the hose to see if it needs to be replaced. If the hose needs to be replaced, the dealership will also replace it. The recall will begin in November.
