There are many behaviors that if engaged in while driving pose serious risks to the safety of the driver, passengers and other people on the roadways. One of the most dangerous behaviors to engage in while driving is driving under the influence. Driving under the influence increases the risk of being involved in a motor vehicle accident, which could result in serious injuries or even fatalities. Recently, a driver was arrested for operating while under the influence at a popular fast food chain.
The incident occurred early this month at a Taco Bell drive-thru. According to law enforcement officials, the driver of an RV drove the vehicle the wrong way through the drive-thru at the restaurant. While attempting to drive through the drive-thru the wrong way, the vehicle got stuck on the corner of the building and was unable to complete the turn into the drive-thru.
After the RV got stuck on the stick of the building, law enforcement officials were called to the scene. Upon their arrival to the scene, police arrested the driver of the RV for suspicion of driving while under the influence. The driver was booked into jail following the arrest. Thankfully, no one suffered injuries following the collision with the side of the Taco Bell.
This accident demonstrates the hazards associated with driving while under the influence. Alcohol slows a person’s reaction time, reduces a person’s ability to concentrate, inhibits judgment and reduces coordination. All of these things greatly increase the risk of being involved in a motor vehicle accident. If someone has been drinking, they should not be driving. Help keep the roadways safer for all by not drinking and driving.
